“True adventure is never about conquering the river; it is about building the humility, discipline, and uncompromising safety standards to immerse yourself entirely in its rawest currents.”
Born and raised with an intimate bond to the Kelani Valley, Chinthaka pioneered modern white-water rafting in Kitulgala in 2004. Recognizing early on that safety must lead every expedition, he became one of the first Sri Lankans to earn senior certification from the International Rafting Federation (IRF) and Wilderness First Responder credentials.
Over two decades, he has trained hundreds of rural youth into world-class river guides, advised government tourism bodies, and built a sustainable enterprise that proves adventure and ecological conservation can thrive hand-in-hand.
